IS claims responsibility for attack in St. Petersburg, Russia

The self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) terrorist group has claimed responsibility for a bombing at a supermarket in the Russian city of St. Petersburg.
IS's Amaq news agency reported on December 29 that the organization had carried out the attack in St. Petersburg two days earlier, but did not provide any evidence.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has called the attack at the Perekrestok supermarket in St. Petersburg an act of terrorism. The bombing, which occurred on the evening of December 27, injured at least 13 people.
Investigators said the explosion was caused by a homemade bomb containing about 200g of explosives and metal fragments to increase lethality./.
