Syrian state television reported that the Israeli airstrike took place at around 11:00 p.m. on March 27 (4:00 a.m. on March 28, Hanoi time). A representative of the Syrian militia said the attack targeted the Aleppo civilian airport, the Jibrin residential area and the nearby Sheikh Nadzhar industrial zone.
According to an announcement from Syria, the country's air defense forces intercepted several missiles in the Sheikh Nadzhar area.
The airstrikes left behind infrastructure damage. It is reported that the entire city of Aleppo was completely cut off from electricity after the attack.
The last time the Israeli Air Force carried out strikes on Syria was in January 2019. The attack left four people dead and six Syrian soldiers injured. In repelling the attack, Syrian air defenses intercepted more than 30 cruise missiles and guided bombs.
After the attack in January, Damascus officially threatened to attack Israel's Tel Aviv airport as a symmetrical retaliation./.
