Reuters news agency said that at least 25 people were injured, mostly civilians, including children.
However, according to the Israeli military's announcement, the airstrike target was a military training camp and a Hamas ammunition depot in the northern Gaza Strip.
Earlier, Israel's Iron Dome anti-missile defense system intercepted a rocket fired from Gaza. Later, the Israeli military detected another rocket launch aimed at the country.
Tensions between Israel and Palestine are at risk of erupting immediately after US President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Thousands of Palestinians took to the streets for a sixth day of “angry” protests, following a call from the Hamas movement.
Many clashes between protesters and Israeli soldiers occurred, leaving at least 2 people dead and about 700 injured./.
