Israel bombs Hamas leader's house, enemy responds with rockets
Israel bombed the home of a Hamas leader in Gaza this morning (May 16), while the Islamic organization fired several rockets at Tel Aviv as fighting entered its seventh day with no sign of abating.
At least four Palestinians were killed and many others injured in overnight Israeli air strikes in Gaza, Reuters reported, citing medical officials.
In Tel Aviv and the southern city of Beersheba, Israelis rushed to bomb shelters as rocket warning sirens blared. Doctors said about 10 people were injured.

Violence has erupted in Gaza since May 10, killing at least 149 people, including 41 children. Israel reported 10 deaths, including 2 children.
Envoys from the US, the UN and Egypt are trying to restore calm but there is no sign of progress. The UN is due to meet today to discuss what is believed to be the worst outbreak of violence in years betweenIsraelandPalestineThis.
Both Israel and Hamas have vowed to continue cross-border bombardment, a day after Israel destroyed a 12-story building in Gaza City that once housed the Associated Press and al-Jazeera.
