According to Minister Zeev Elkin, Russia's deployment of S-300 complexes in Syria is a big mistake.
"The Syrian army does not always know how to use the equipment properly," he said. "In case of improper use, civilian aircraft can be shot down. Air transport in this area can be threatened."
"The range of the S-300 is quite large, covering the entire territory of Israel, so the Syrians, if they wanted, could try to shoot down a military aircraft over Israeli territory or even a civilian aircraft," Mr. Elkin said.
According to Mr. Elkin, Israel will use anti-retaliation weapons if the S-300 attacks its territory or aircraft. "I really hope there will be no Russian experts there," he said.
