Isuzu D-Max 2017 arrives in Vietnam, price not announced yet

The new version of the Japanese pickup truck has been spotted in Vietnam, although the official release date and listed price have not been officially revealed.

Compared to the current version, the 2017 D-Max has some changes in exterior design. The grille at the front of the car has been refined to look more sturdy, the headlights are designed with sharp LED daytime running lights. The front bumper and hood have also been renewed to look stronger but also smoother. In particular, the new 18-inch alloy wheel design increases the strength of Isuzu's pickup truck.

It is not clear what the interior of the 2017 Isuzu D-Max in Vietnam will be equipped with, however, in foreign markets, the new version of this pickup model has connectivity features such as: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite navigation system, DAB digital radio and two roof rails. The interior space is covered in leather, the car is also equipped with rear parking sensors and automatic air conditioning system. High-end versions will have additional Blade headlights, front parking sensors...

In the Thai market, the 2017 Isuzu D-Max is equipped with a 1.9-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, producing 150 horsepower and 350 Nm of maximum torque, replacing the 2.5-liter I4 turbocharged diesel engine of the old version. The new engine on the 2017 D-Max is combined with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The new engine used on the Isuzu D-Max has a reduced capacity, but according to Isuzu, it has increased power by 10%, increased torque by 9% and is 20% lighter. In particular, this engine also provides 19% more fuel economy than the previous version.

Currently, D-Max models in Vietnam use 2 types of engines, the 2.5 liter version produces 136 horsepower at 3,600 rpm, 320 Nm of torque at 1,800 - 2,800 rpm. The 3.0 liter version has 163 horsepower at 3,200 rpm and 380 Nm of torque at 1,800 - 2,200 rpm.

Isuzu D-Max shares the same chassis platform with Chevrolet Colorado and is considered a competitor of Ford Ranger, Mazda BT-50, Toyota Hilux... D-Max is currently priced in Vietnam from 660 - 790 million VND.
