Last February, in a video posted by the White House on YouTube, when the host asked him about his faith and the secrets hidden inside his soul, President Obama pulled out some mementos from his pocket.
Mr. Obama said there are a number of items he always carries in his pocket, including a rosary given to him by Pope Francis and a tiny Buddha statue given to him by a monk.
“Since I became President of the United States, people have started giving me things as good luck charms, or mementos. I keep them all in a big box, but there are some that I always carry with me, including a small Buddha as a good luck charm and also to remind me of all the people I met and the stories they told me,” said President Obama.

Let us pray and reflect together on the virtues of wisdom, courage and compassion…Our family sends our best wishes on this Vesak day.”
