Johanna Konta becomes the first British player to win Miami
Konta defeated former world number one Caroline Wozniacki 6-4, 6-3 to win her third WTA Tour title.
This is only Konta's first Premier Mandatory title. The 25-year-old had a dominant match and became the first Briton to win the title in Miami.
The win earned Konta $1.18 million in prize money and moved her from 11th to seventh in the WTA rankings, her highest career ranking. In June 2015, Konta was ranked 146th in the world.

Konta started well, winning Wozniacki's first service game with a clean sheet. However, the Dane showed the mettle of a two-time Grand Slam finalist by equalizing at 2-2, then 4-4.
In fine form this year, Konta always gave Wozniacki trouble with her powerful first serves. The Briton dominated the long rallies and successfully used the third break point in the first set to take the lead.
In the second set, Konta once again won her opponent's serve game, but Wozniacki equalized. When trailing 2-3, Konta won four games in a row, including an important break point in the 7th game to end the match.
Konta last won a WTA Tour title at the Bank of the West Classic in July 2016. She lost to Agnieszka Radwanska in the China Open final in October 2016. Konta has won a title this year, in January, at the Sydney International.
Before this match, Konta met Wozniacki in the third round of the Australian Open this year and also won overwhelmingly.
For Wozniacki, this is the third time she has lost a final this year. Previously, the Danish player was defeated by Elina Svitolina at the Dubai Championship and lost to Karolina Pliskova at the Qatar Open.
