Juventus successfully recruited Howedes

Juventus FC announced that they have successfully signed a contract with central defender Benedikt Howedes from Schalke 04 (Germany).

Benedikt Howedes, 29, has been a mainstay of Schalke 04 for the past nine years, making 334 appearances in all competitions and scoring 23 goals. Howedes was brought in by Juventus to replace centre-back Leonardo Bonucci, who moved to AC Milan.

According to Reuters, Juventus will temporarily borrow Howedes for 1 year with an option to buy at the end of the season. To borrow Howedes, Juventus must pay Schalke 04 3.5 million euros and this amount will increase to 13.5 million euros if Howedes plays 25 matches this season./.
