Goal: Juan Cuadrado (76').

Visiting Lyon, Juventus were at a disadvantage in the first half when the referee blew a penalty after Bonucci pulled down Mouctar Diakhaby in the 16m50 box. However, goalkeeper Buffon made an excellent save from Lacazette on the 11m mark.

The challenge continued for Juventus with Mario Lemina's second yellow card in the 54th minute. Despite being one man down against the home team, Juventus showed their mettle and won thanks to the brilliance of star man Cuadrado. The player on loan from Chelsea dribbled past players on the right wing before finishing past Lyon from a tight angle.

The narrow win over Lyon kept Juventus top of Group H with seven points, level with Sevilla but with a better goal difference. Lyon finished third with three points, while Dinamo Zagreb were bottom without a point.

Both teams started the game with a back three, so the attacking potential and chances were open towards each other's goal. Higuain had the most notable situation early in the match but his finish was not difficult enough for goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.

Lyon had a chance to open the scoring in the 35th minute but this time it was Buffon's turn to be the hero for Juventus. The veteran goalkeeper has made mistakes in his last two games for Italy and Juventus, but not a third time in France. Buffon dived in the right direction to block Lacazette's penalty.

In the second half, Lyon launched a quick counter-attack, causing Lemina to foul Nabil Fekir and leave the field with an indirect red card. Under pressure from the home team, Buffon still maintained excellent saves against Fekir and Corentin Tolisso.

After Cuadrado scored to put Juventus ahead, Buffon again secured all three points with a late save from Maxime Gonalons' powerful strike.

Juventus will qualify for the round of 16 if they beat Lyon at home on November 2.
