Juventus set a record by winning Serie A for the sixth consecutive year
The Turin club earned enough points to win the title this season with one round to spare, after crushing Crotone 3-0 on Sunday, May 21.
Juventus earned 88 points after 37 matches, four points ahead of second-placed Roma before entering the final round on May 28.
At Juventus Stadium in the penultimate round, coach Massimiliano Allegri's team easily won an overwhelming victory over a Crotone team that was at risk of relegation. Mario Mandzukic opened the scoring early in the 12th minute with a close-range shot. Paulo Dybala doubled the gap in the 39th minute with a free kick from about 25 meters. Alex Sandro completed the victory that decided the championship in the 83rd minute.
The result puts Juventus two-thirds of the way through their campaign to win the treble. They have already won the Coppa Italia, their sixth successive Serie A title, and are now comfortably set for the Champions League final against Real Madrid on June 3. It is the third consecutive season the Turin club have won the domestic double, after they beat Lazio 2-0 in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday, May 17.
Juventus won the 2016-17 Serie A title a round early, but it was still late compared to the fans' expectations. They would have had enough points to win the title in round 36 if they had not suffered a 1-3 defeat to second-placed Roma.

If they beat Real in the European football championship match on June 3 at the Millennium Stadium in Wales, Juventus will become the second Italian club to win the treble in one season, after Mourinho's Inter in 2010.
Before the Champions League final, Allegri and his team have one more match on Sunday, May 28, when they visit Bologna on the final day of Serie A.
