Juventus lose their best defender ahead of the big clash against Barca.
Italy received bad news ahead of their Champions League final with the injury of Giorgio Chiellini.
Chielini suffered a calf injury during training on June 3rd. Initially, the problem didn't seem serious, but after diagnostic procedures, Juventus discovered a dangerous tear in his left calf – which will prevent Chielini from participating in the upcoming final.
Chiellini's absence is a major blow for Juventus, further narrowing their already slim chances of winning against Barca. The Serie A champions will lose a valuable tool to counter the devastating attacking trio of Messi, Suarez, and Neymar.

The 30-year-old center-back is considered the heart of Juventus' defense. He was a key factor in helping Juventus neutralize world-class attacking stars like Ronaldo, Bale, and Benzema from Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
Chiellini's position will most likely be replaced by Andrea Barzagli, who hasn't been a regular in the starting lineup since recovering from an ankle injury a few months ago.
With Chiellini unavailable, the highly anticipated reunion between the central defender and Luis Suarez of Barcelona will not take place as many fans have hoped.
Almost a year ago, when Italy faced Juventus in the group stage of the 2014 World Cup, these two names contributed to the biggest scandal of the tournament, with Suarez biting Chiellini on the shoulder, and subsequently receiving a four-month suspension from FIFA.
