Juventus, Real Madrid eliminated from Champions League; FIFA puts Van Hau on list of Asian talents

On October 13, the Vietnamese team will play against host Malaysia.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has officially announced the schedule for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers to take place at the end of the year. Accordingly, Coach Park Hang-seo and his team will travel to Malaysia on October 13.

Previously, according to the old schedule, the above confrontation took place on March 31 but had to be postponed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. After discussions and considerations based on the epidemic situation, the Competition Committee, AFC decided that the second qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia will be re-held on October 8 and 13; November 12 and 17.

Thus, after the away match against Malaysia, the Vietnamese team will return to My Dinh to welcome the Indonesian team on November 12. Next, Coach Park and his team will only have five days to prepare before playing the final away match against the UAE on November 17.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Vietnam national team, which was scheduled to gather on August 10, was forced to postpone it to August 18. It is known that the reason for the late gathering is to help some players of SHB Da Nang and Quang Nam clubs (two localities currently at the center of the COVID-19 epidemic in Vietnam) to properly complete the 14-day quarantine period as prescribed.

With only 4 minutes on the field in the Dutch championship, Vietnamese defender Doan Van Hau was still praised by FIFA and considered a promising player of Asian football.

Van Hau has returned to Vietnam and is currently in quarantine. The 21-year-old player has been registered to play in the second round of the 2020 V-League and will significantly supplement the shortage of players for the defending champion Hanoi. However, many experts believe that Van Hau should play abroad in tournaments such as Japan's J-League or Korea's K-League instead of going to Europe.
