Goals: Marchisio (13'), Dybala (40', 89'), Higuain (63') - Chochev (90'+3).
Dybala opened the game with a warning for Palermo when his free-kick in the fifth minute hit the post. Juventus didn't have long to take the lead after this situation when Claudio Marchisio pounced on the rebound from Higuain's shot.
Playing at home, Juventus completely dominated the game and doubled the lead at the end of the first half. This time Dybala gave the opposing goalkeeper no chance with a free kick straight into the near corner. The Argentine striker did not celebrate after scoring against his former team.
Dybala continued to shine in the second half, contributing to both of the remaining goals. First, he through-balled for Higuain to score his 19th goal in Serie A and his 12th in 10 consecutive games. This goal also helped Higuain surpass Roma's Dzeko to lead the Serie A scoring charts.
Towards the end of the match, Higuain returned the favour by assisting Dybala after he had managed to get through the Palermo defenders. The visitors only managed to get a consolation goal in the third minute of stoppage time thanks to a header from midfielder Chochev. It was Juventus' first goal conceded in six consecutive clean sheets in Serie A.
The early win helped Juventus increase the gap with the second-placed Roma to 10 points. This is a big pressure for the Rome team when they host Torino in this round. Besides, Juventus also creates mental motivation before the away match to Porto in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 in the middle of next week.
Meanwhile, Palermo are still sitting comfortably in the relegation zone, 18th. They could have been overtaken by Crotone if they had not lost their away match against Atalanta.
