Kidnapper, slit victim's throat in Nghe An arrested
(Baonghean.vn) - At 3:30 p.m. on April 17, the subject who restrained and used a knife to cut the victim's neck in Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district was taken to Dien Chau district police headquarters.
Previously, at around 8:00 a.m. on April 17, a kidnapping occurred at Van Bau market in Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An.

Many witnesses said that at the time, Chu Van Son (35 years old, residing in Quyet Thang hamlet, Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district) used a knife to control a baby of about 1 year old and cut the baby's arm, causing injury.
Son then used a knife to control Nguyen Van Quang (living in the same neighborhood, 34 years old) while Quang was driving his motorbike home. Son sat behind the motorbike, used a knife to hold the hostage's neck and forced him to go to his house.
Upon receiving the news, the police force coordinated with the border guards to arrive at the scene. At 2 p.m., Mr. Nguyen Van Diep, a police officer of Dien Bich commune, and three police officers of this commune approached and persuaded Son to release the hostage.
At this time, Son held a knife in one hand and scissors in the other, threatening Mr. Quang and asking the police to let him smoke a pipe. Taking advantage of Son's carelessness, Mr. Diep rushed in and knocked the scissors out of Son's hand. Immediately, Son took the knife and slashed Mr. Quang's neck, causing the victim to be injured, lose a lot of blood, and faint on the spot.

The police quickly rushed in to control Son, rescued Mr. Quang and took the victim to the emergency room. Son was covered with a blanket by the police and taken to the commune police station. At 3:30 p.m., the perpetrator was escorted by a van to the Dien Chau district police station.
Initially, authorities suspected that Son was high on drugs, which is why he acted so recklessly and hooliganically.
