The kidnapper who slit the victim's throat in Nghe An has been arrested.
(Baonghean.vn) - At 3:30 PM on April 17th, the suspect who held a victim hostage and slit their throat with a knife in Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district, was escorted to the Dien Chau District Police headquarters.
Earlier, at around 8:00 AM on April 17th, a kidnapping occurred at Van Bau market in Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province.

According to several witnesses, at the time of the incident, Chu Van Son (35 years old, residing in Quyet Thang hamlet, Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district) used a knife to threaten a child about one year old and slashed the child's arm, causing injury.
Afterward, Son continued to use the knife to hold Nguyen Van Quang (34 years old, residing in the same neighborhood) hostage while Quang was riding his motorbike home. Son sat on the back of the motorbike, holding the knife to Quang's neck and forcing him to go to his house.
Upon receiving the report, the police, in coordination with the border guards, arrived at the scene. At 2 PM, Nguyen Van Diep, a police officer from Dien Bich commune, and three other police officers from the same commune approached and persuaded Son to release the hostage.
At this moment, Son, holding a knife in one hand and scissors in the other, threatened Quang and demanded that the authorities allow him to smoke a pipe of tobacco. Taking advantage of Son's momentary lapse of attention, Diep rushed in and knocked the scissors out of Son's hand. Immediately, Son used the knife to slash Quang's neck, causing the victim to be injured, lose a lot of blood, and faint on the spot.

The police quickly subdued Son, rescued Quang, and took the victim to the hospital. Son was covered with a blanket by the authorities and escorted to the commune police station. At 3:30 PM, the perpetrator was transported in a police van to the Dien Chau district police headquarters.
Initially, authorities suspected that Son was under the influence of methamphetamine, which led to his reckless and violent behavior.
