The man who killed his friend and hid his body in the forest was sentenced to death.

To steal his friend's iPhone 6 Plus and property, Chung stabbed him 56 times and hid his body in a rubber forest in Dong Nai.

On December 15, Dong Nai Provincial People's Court sentenced Nguyen Dinh Chung (21 years old, residing in Lam Dong) to death for murder and robbery.

According to the People's Court, Chung's criminal behavior was very hooligan, he committed the crime to the end and could not be reformed.

According to the indictment, on the afternoon of May 4, Chung and Vo Quoc Khanh (22 years old) drove from Lam Dong to Ho Chi Minh City. Knowing that Khanh had an expensive iPhone 6 Plus, Chung had the idea of ​​killing his friend to take possession of it. To carry out the plan, he bought a pocket knife as a weapon while stopping to drink water along the way.

At 0:30 the next day, the two arrived at a rubber forest in Tuc Trung commune, Dinh Quan district (Dong Nai). When they stopped to use the restroom, Chung suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed his friend multiple times in the back, chest, neck, and stomach.

Thinking Khanh was dead, Chung dragged his friend and hid him in a rubber plantation. The victim woke up and called for help, but the perpetrator continued to attack him, stabbing him 56 times in total. Chung took Khanh's 2 phones, motorbike, and 150,000 VND and fled to Ho Chi Minh City to hide.

In court today, Chung was quite calm, admitted all his crimes and apologized to the victim's family.
