Murderer of erotic cafe owner sentenced to life in prison

More than two years after killing a female coffee shop owner in a suburban Saigon area during an argument over sex money, Hau was brought to trial.

On November 30, Ho Chi Minh City People's Court sentenced Nguyen Huu Hau (28 years old) to life in prison for the crimes of Murder and Robbery.

At court, Hau testified that in the early afternoon of November 4, 2014, after going out drinking, he went to a coffee shop on Highway 22 (Cu Chi district) to have a drink. Later, the 28-year-old female owner of the shop invited Hau into the room to stimulate sex.

Not satisfied with the "service", Hau paid 130,000 VND and left, but the owner kept him and demanded triple the amount. When he refused, the woman locked the door and prevented him from leaving, leading to a fight.

The shop owner took out two knives to attack and injure Hau. He then grabbed an electric fan and used an electric cord to strangle her until she passed out.

When the guy searched his pocket for the key, the victim woke up. Hau grabbed a knife and cut the owner of the shop many times in the neck, causing her death.

Before leaving the scene, he took the victim's money, jewelry, and phone. Hau was arrested more than a month later.
