Man with a grudge threatens to shoot barber shop owner to death

On March 18, suspect Nguyen Van Hanh (31 years old, in Nam Dinh) gave an initial statement to the Nam Tu Liem District Police (Hanoi) about the reason for shooting Nguyen Manh Hung (owner of a barber shop on Le Duc Tho Street).

Hanh confessed to having a relationship with a girl from Phu Tho. Recently, Hanh heard that his girlfriend had fallen in love with Hung.

On March 8, Hanh and her friend went to Mr. Hung's store to resolve the conflict but could not find him. Before leaving, he beat the store employee to "warn" his rival.

During this time, his girlfriend returned to her hometown. Hanh and Hung continued to argue. Angry at being "robbed" of her lover and challenged, Hanh sought revenge.

On March 15, Hanh went from Nam Dinh to Hanoi with a homemade Colt gun. He called Bui Quang Toan (27 years old, from Thai Binh) to pick him up and asked Hoang Tien Thanh (25 years old) to go to the store to check if Hung was there.

That same evening, Hanh's group came to the bar to cause trouble. Seeing that Hung did not come out to talk as Thanh requested, Toan rushed in and smashed a glass bottle on his head. Hung fought back with scissors.

Hanh pulled out a gun and shot at the ceiling, threatening Hung, "Do you want to die?" but Thanh stopped her. Seeing Hung still holding the hair scissors, Hanh snatched them, stabbed him 3 times in the left thigh, then left.

The police agency is requesting the People's Procuracy of the same level to prosecute Hanh for illegal possession and use of military weapons; and Toan for intentional infliction of injury.
