The plan to deny the crime of the suspect who killed the coffee garden owner
Using a crowbar to kill a coffee garden owner and rob his property, Dang Van Luyen showed grief over the victim's death to avoid suspicion, but was exposed by the police.
For many years, Mr. Bui Van Thang (62 years old) has often stayed in a small hut by the Dak Long Thuong Lake (Loc Ngai Commune, Bao Lam District) to look after his family's coffee garden. On the morning of January 8, the village chief did not see him arrive at the Covid-19 vaccination center as registered, so he went to find out.
In front of the hut was a pair of Mr. Thang's sandals. The village cadre thought he was still asleep and called out to him several times, but no one answered. Going around to the back to search, he discovered the body of the coffee garden owner with many wounds hidden in the bushes by the lake.
According to local authorities, Mr. Thang was a gentle person and had no conflicts with anyone. His murder caused many people to talk and were surprised.
Examining the scene, Lam Dong police discovered signs of ransacking and determined this was a murder case.robberyMany people with criminal records and young troublemakers in the area were put under suspicion; the victims' relationships were also checked.

"In fact, the traces left at the scene were very vague, making it difficult to determine who the perpetrator was," an investigator said, adding that the victim had injuries that showed he was attacked with great force from the back of the head, shoulder, and neck, causing a brain hemorrhage leading to death.
Putting together the information they had, the investigators determined that the perpetrator might be someone the victim knew, so the victim was not on guard; the suspect's height was equal to or greater than the victim's... From dozens of people under suspicion, Dang Van Luyen (42 years old, from Kien Giang) - living near the victim's house, emerged with many suspicions.
Luyen lived alone and was hired by two homestay owners to take care of the garden for a salary of 12 million VND a month. The verification process showed that Luyen had a complicated love relationship, was addicted to gambling, and was also a frequent visitor to Mr. Thang's hut, so he knew the victim's activities well.
When asked to work, Luyen expressed his grief over his neighbor's death and insisted that he had nothing to do with it. He said he had not seen Mr. Thang for the past 2 days and that he had been doing many things during the time the victim was murdered... However, the investigators discovered that he had many inconsistencies and contradictions.

"Along with fighting the criminal's psychology, we analyzed the evidence collected at the scene and Luyen's residence, forcing him to admit his actions within 72 hours of committing the crime," the investigator said.
Luyen confessed that he knew Thang had just made money selling coffee, so he came over on the morning of January 8 to ask to borrow some. But when they met, he had the intention of killing him to rob him. While the victim was not paying attention, he took a crowbar from behind and hit him repeatedly in the vital parts.
Luyen hid Mr. Thang's body in the bushes, threw the murder weapon into the lake, then returned to the hut to search for the victim's wallet and phone. Luyen used the stolen money to buy a motorbike and spend time with his girlfriend.
Currently, Luyen is being investigated for two crimes.KillingandRobbery.
