(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the 2015 cultural activities plan and organizing the traditional festival of the Yen Thanh District People's Committee, this year at the Duc Hoang Temple (Phuc Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district) will hold festival activities to honor traditional cultural values, commemorate the contributions of Sat Hai Dai Vuong Hoang Ta Thon - a general who made many contributions to the national resistance against the Yuan-Mongol invasion in the 13th century. At the same time, it will continue to promote and develop the spiritual and cultural values of the Duc Hoang Temple, linking it with activities to develop services and tourism.

The Duc Hoang Temple Festival takes place over three days, from March 19, 2015 (corresponding to the 29th day of the 2nd lunar month of the Year of the Goat) to March 21, 2015 (corresponding to the 2nd day of the 2nd lunar month of the Year of the Goat), at Duc Hoang Temple. The ceremonial part consists of six events: the opening ceremony (3 PM on March 18, the 28th day of the 1st lunar month); the announcement ceremony (from 4 PM on March 19, the 29th day of the 1st lunar month); the procession of Duc Hoang and the palanquin carrying President Ho Chi Minh's portrait, and the ancestral tablets of the clans around the lotus pond in Dieu village (from 7:15 AM on March 20, the 1st day of the 2nd lunar month); the welcoming ceremony (rally, from 8:30 AM on March 20, the 1st day of the 2nd lunar month); the grand sacrificial ceremony (from 10 AM on March 20, the 1st day of the 2nd lunar month); Thanksgiving ceremony (from 4 PM on March 21st, which is the 2nd day of the 2nd lunar month).
The festival includes many folk and modern cultural and artistic activities such as: men's football, the final of the Yen Thanh district women's volleyball tournament, wrestling, stick pushing, tug-of-war, cultural exchange between villages, provincial art troupes performing the folk song heritage of Vi Dam, drumming competition, cockfighting, human chess, beauty contest, camping competition, releasing floating lanterns... Some folk games include: cockfighting, boat racing, eel catching, duck catching, swinging, blindfolded rice cooking, walking on a bridge...
