The killer of six people in the villa was the victim's ex-boyfriend.

On the evening of July 10th, police arrested two suspects in the shocking Bình Phước massacre. One of the suspects is the ex-boyfriend of the victim's daughter.

The Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security announced that the two suspects in the massacre of six members of the family of Mr. Le Van My (48 years old) at their villa near National Highway 13 (Minh Hung commune, Chon Thanh district) are Nguyen Hai Duong and Vu Van Tien (both 24 years old).

In his statement to the investigating authorities, Duong said he had been in a romantic relationship with Le Thi Anh Linh (22 years old, Mr. My's daughter) for many years. A few months ago, due to a conflict, the two broke up.

Recently, Duong conceived the idea of ​​robbing his ex-girlfriend's family because he knew they were very wealthy. Having visited Mr. My's villa many times, he knew every nook and cranny and the daily routines of everyone there.

"Duong Khai and Tien conspired to plan the break-in at Mr. My's house to steal property. Initially, we believe their motive was to murder and rob," a police investigator said.

On the evening of July 10th, upon hearing the news that the police had apprehended the perpetrators, hundreds of residents of Minh Hung commune and neighbors close to Mr. My's family were in a frenzy. People gathered, discussing the incident and expressing their admiration for the police force. They were quite surprised to learn that the perpetrator was Duong, because on the afternoon of July 8th, he had attended the funeral and even stayed overnight. Duong had always shown sympathy for his former girlfriend and Linh's family, leading no one to suspect him.

With his good looks and gentle demeanor, Duong was once well-liked by Mr. and Mrs. My. The wealthy timber magnate entrusted him with a multi-billion dong car to drive Linh to school in Binh Duong every weekend.

"The past few days have been terrible; I've never seen our neighborhood so panicked. Now that we know the murderers have been arrested, we feel incredibly relieved and happy," said Ms. Nguyen Thi An, who lives near the scene.

Coming from Saigon to share the grief with Mr. My's family, and also a relative, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Uyen (53 years old) could not hide her joy on her haggard face. With tears in her eyes, she said: "My family and I will stay up all night to warm the spirits of the children and grandchildren. These past few days, I have been praying and making supplications for the spirits of the deceased to appear and bless the authorities in finding the perpetrator."

Earlier, at around 7:00 AM on July 7th, Ms. Doan Thi Cam Loan (38 years old), a housekeeper for Mr. My's family, arrived for work and found the back door locked and the front door slightly ajar. Upon entering, she discovered numerous bloodstains. Her employer, his wife Nguyen Thi Anh Nga (44 years old), and their son were found dead on the floor. Running upstairs, Ms. Loan found Linh and her 18-year-old cousin dead in the bedroom.

Police arrived at the scene and discovered the body of Mr. My's 14-year-old nephew lying at the gate of the house. All of them had serious injuries to their necks. Only Na, the youngest child of the couple, was found by the housekeeper sleeping in her room and escaped unharmed.

Authorities are expanding their investigation into the case.
