Bald man chopped off drinking buddy's arm at beer bar

The incident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on June 4 at Pocpoc Beer Pub, located at 2 Nguyen Tai Street, Truong Thi Ward, Vinh City. The brawl left two young men hospitalized in critical condition, while the suspect quickly fled into the night.

After receiving the report, the Criminal Police Team (CSHS) quickly arrived at the scene of the crime, conducted a crime scene investigation, collected information to serve the investigation and arrested the perpetrator.

Determining this to be a case of intentional infliction of serious injury, the Vinh City Police Department assigned the Criminal Police Team to establish a special project with code 616T to fight and quickly arrest the perpetrator.

That same night, the identity of the perpetrator was clarified as Nguyen Thanh Trung (23 years old), residing in Tan Tien block, Le Mao ward, Vinh city. The two victims were Nguyen Huu An (born in 1983), residing in block 6A, Cua Nam ward and Chu Trong Tu (born in 1985), residing in Binh Yen block, Hung Binh ward, Vinh city.

Victim Nguyen Huu An said that he and Nguyen Thanh Trung were friends before. Due to disagreements, he cut off business relations with Trung for more than a year. Chu Trong Tu, who was drinking with An, was slashed after trying to stop An and Trung.

The doctor said that before being admitted to the hospital, Mr. Tu's left forearm was almost severed and he has now been transferred to Hanoi Hospital for treatment. Mr. An was stabbed in the lung but is out of danger.

After the case was established, Major Nguyen Huu Cuong, Deputy Chief of Vinh City Police, Head of the case, mobilized detectives and investigators to focus on "hotly" pursuing the perpetrator.

“All locations suspected of Nguyen Thanh Trung’s possible hiding places have been checked by the Investigation Team. One of them was a location where the detectives had just arrived and Trung had just left by motorbike. Trung said he was going to Ha Tinh to visit a friend, but in fact he was hiding back home,” added Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Trung Dung, an investigator of the Criminal Police Team.

The Vinh City Police Department also coordinated with his family and relatives to persuade Trung to surrender to the investigation agency to enjoy leniency under the law, but Trung still did not surrender.

After 2 days and nights of intensive investigation, on June 6, the Task Force successfully arrested Nguyen Thanh Trung. At the investigation agency, Trung stated: At around 10:30 p.m. on June 4, he went to Pocpoc beer bar to drink. A while later, he went to beer table number 18 to hang out with a group of friends and met Nguyen Huu An. An was previously friends with Trung, but later, the two broke off their relationship due to business conflicts. Here, after congratulating each other, due to alcohol, Trung and An recalled the past and then had a conflict, raised their voices and were stopped by Chu Trong Tu and some others.

The disagreement and conflict between the two seemed to end there, but unexpectedly Trung went home and got a 1.2m long knife to return to Pocpoc beer house to resolve the conflict. During the fight, Trung used the knife to stab Mr. An once in the left rib, causing the victim to fall to the ground. Seeing this, Mr. Chu Trong Tu immediately stood up to stop him, but Trung used the knife to slash his left arm once. After committing the crime, Nguyen Thanh Trung quickly fled.

After consolidating the case file and evidence, recently, the Vinh City Police Department initiated a criminal case, prosecuted the accused, and issued a decision to detain Nguyen Thanh Trung for intentionally causing injury to serve the investigation./.
