(Baonghean) - “For many years, the Party branches under the Party Committee of the Tuong Duong District Police have maintained the practice of reading the Party newspaper at the beginning of each workday. This activity has become a regular and continuous ideological activity, because it is an essential information channel that contributes to increasing the official information source for officers and soldiers,” affirmed Colonel Nguyen Van Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Tuong Duong District Police.

A new day for officers and soldiers of the Social Order Crime Investigation Team of Tuong Duong District Police begins with ideological activities. After being briefed on some directives from higher-level commanders, the team spends 20-30 minutes reviewing noteworthy information from Nhan Dan Newspaper and Nghe An Newspaper. Therefore, these two Party newspapers, along with the industry's newspapers, have long been a primary source of official information for officers and soldiers. According to all officers and soldiers of the unit, although in today's information explosion era everyone can access the internet anywhere using a mobile phone, information from the Party newspapers is the most accurate and reliable, contributing to shaping public opinion.

Officers and soldiers of the Criminal Investigation Team - Social Order - Tuong Duong Police Department obtain information from the Party newspaper.

To ensure that information from the Party newspaper reaches officers and soldiers promptly, the Party cell of the Criminal Investigation Police Department assigned members of the Party cell to read the newspaper beforehand, grasping important information, and then disseminate it to everyone. Those who wanted to understand the information in detail could spend time reading the articles in the newspaper. This method shortened the daily morning meeting time while providing timely information to officers and soldiers on the issues raised in the newspaper. Many cases reported in the newspaper, such as human trafficking, labor fraud, and illegal mining, were effectively addressed by the unit, which coordinated with other forces to thoroughly investigate and combat them.

Evaluating the effectiveness of information in the Party's newspapers, Major Kha Van Hai - Secretary of the Party Branch of the Criminal Investigation Police Department of Tuong Duong District Police - said: “We use the information in Nhan Dan Newspaper and Nghe An Newspaper as a basis for disseminating information to our officers and soldiers. These two newspapers are published daily and delivered promptly in the morning, which helps us to grasp the information. For the past two years, we have seen many innovations in the way Nghe An Newspaper reflects information. In many cases reported by the newspaper, we see meticulous investigation and maturity in the fight against negativity. Reading the investigative articles of the newspaper, we see similarities between our profession and that of reporters and journalists. The work of journalists, as well as officers and soldiers, requires accuracy, objectivity, and a spirit of fighting against negativity, contributing to building a healthy society…”

Not only the Criminal Investigation Team for Social Order, but all teams and units of the Tuong Duong District Police maintain the practice of reading the Party newspaper every morning. During this process, if issues raised in other localities are relevant and widespread, the Party committee and commanders inform the officers to compare and monitor them in their assigned areas. Captain Nguyen Anh Cuong, Secretary of the Party branch of the Traffic Police and Mobile Unit, said: “The daily morning ideological discussion and newspaper reading has become a well-established activity deeply ingrained in the consciousness and responsibility of the officers in the unit. Through the information in the newspaper, we analyze and guide the officers and soldiers.”

This activity not only enhances the political awareness of officers and soldiers but also serves as an important foundation for us to effectively carry out propaganda and mass mobilization work…”. Discussing the effectiveness of purchasing and using Party newspapers in the unit, Colonel Nguyen Van Hung – Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the District Police – said: “For the unit, due to security concerns, we do not install internet access in all teams, only in the office. Therefore, printed newspapers are the main means for officers and soldiers to engage in ideological activities and grasp information. Besides serving the morning's activities, these newspapers are also important resources for the force when grasping the situation and comparing it with the reality at the grassroots level. Along with strengthening grassroots engagement, information from Party newspapers is an essential information channel for commanders to each officer and soldier in the unit…”.

Speaking with us, Comrade Kha Van Diem, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Tuong Duong District Party Committee, said: “The District Police Party Committee is one of the five most exemplary Party branches in the district in effectively subscribing to and using Party newspapers. We have proposed that higher levels commend the activities of the district police officers and soldiers for this work, and we will promote learning and replication of the model of effectively purchasing, using, and exploiting information from Party newspapers...”
