The conclusion stated that the competent agencies of the Ministry of National Defense had actively verified and concluded that the health examination for candidate Quang Quoc Viet had followed the correct procedures. At the same time, they agreed to allow this candidate to enroll in the civilian system at schools in the Army if he/she wishes and achieves the standard score of the training program at the school he/she wishes to study (the candidate must submit an application to the school he/she wishes to study before November 10, 2018).
Responding to press concerns, the Ministry of National Defense's competent authority affirmed that the health examination for candidate Quang Quoc Viet followed the correct procedure, including the following steps:
Preliminary health examination for military recruitment at the Military Service Health Examination Council of Que Phong district, Nghe An province; re-examination of health at the Health Examination Council of Military Hospital 87 - General Department of Logistics and health assessment at the Medical Examination Council of Military Hospital 175 - Ministry of National Defense (Medical Assessment Council of the Ministry of National Defense).
The medical examination results at Military Hospital 175 are the final conclusion. According to this result, candidate Quang Quoc Viet, 160 cm tall, is not qualified to study (compared with the regulations issued and revised in 2016, 2017:Candidates from ethnic minorities applying for military university training must be 162 cm or taller and weigh 50 kg or more.).
Regarding the inconsistent medical examination results and conclusions on the health of candidate Quang Quoc Viet among the units, the Military Admissions Board - Ministry of National Defense has directed the Military Admissions Board of Que Phong district (Nghe An province), the Information Officer School, Military Hospital 87/General Department of Logistics to organize a review, clearly determine the responsibilities of collectives and individuals and, depending on the level, seriously consider disciplinary measures.
Quang Quoc Viet was born in 2000, a Thai ethnic, in Thong Thu commune, Que Phong district, Nghe An province. In the 2018 national high school exam, Viet achieved a total score of 22.35 (including priority points), he passed his first choice to enter the Information Officer School.
After enrolling, this candidate was returned by the Information Officer School in Khanh Hoa with the initial reason being tuberculosis, then being short.
Since being sent home by the school, Viet has been depressed, worried that his dream will be unfulfilled. Besides, the recruitment of other schools has almost been completed, he does not know where to study because his family is too poor and cannot afford to pay for school.
Faced with Viet's situation, the leaders of Da Nang University of Technology, Forestry University and several other schools agreed to accept and reserve the 2018 national high school exam results for this candidate, if he wishes to study at the school.
