"Regarding the interference and suppression, the school affirms that it has not received any requests from the individual People's Artist Anh Tu to the school's leadership," Hanoi College of Art responded.

Regarding the case of Xuan Bac's wife, Ms. Hong Nhung, a lecturer at the Department of Theater, Cinema and Dance, accusing her of being oppressed, Hanoi College of Arts has sent its final conclusion to the press agencies on the afternoon of September 25. We would like to post the original text of the response to questions from reporters from Hanoi College of Arts.

Thạc sĩ Hồng Nhung làm việc tại Trường CĐ NT Hà Nội từ năm 2003.
Master Hong Nhung has been working at Hanoi College of Arts since 2003.

Could the Board of Directors please let us know what was discussed in the meeting between the School and lecturer Nguyen Hong Nhung? What solutions did the School propose for each specific issue raised?

Regarding this incident, at the end of the June 2017 Graduation Exam, lecturer Hong Nhung directly brought the request paper to meet Principal Duong Minh Anh to question about not being allowed to participate in the exam board.

At the meeting, the school principal explained and lecturer Hong Nhung personally felt satisfied and did not submit the request. However, on August 21, 2017, lecturer Hong Nhung sent a request (not a petition or complaint) to the Party Committee and the school's Board of Directors and on September 11, 2017, she livestreamed on her personal page.

After the above incident, the school organized a meeting with the Party Committee, Board of Directors, Trade Union, Head of the People's Inspectorate, Secretary of the Party cell where Ms. Hong Nhung works. The Dean of the Department of Theater and Dance, Head of the Finance and Planning Department, Head of the Administration and Management Department, Deputy Head of the Training Department, Deputy Head of the Organization Department and lecturer Nguyen Hong Nhung... The purpose was to resolve the issues that lecturers were concerned about the school.

The meeting focused on resolving questions according to the request and petition sent to the Party Committee, Board of Directors, Trade Union and People's Inspectorate by lecturer Hong Nhung about not being allowed to participate in the graduation exam board for the 2014-2017 theater course; Information reflecting on the school (not included in the request and petition) was spread in the livestream on social networks on September 11 by lecturer Hong Nhung.

Ms. Nhung shared information about the school's facilities being degraded and not meeting the needs of teaching and learning. Does the school respond about the cause and solution?

These are true reflections of the current situation of some classrooms of the Department of Theatre, however, they are not really objective because the school is currently making investments according to the request of the department. The delay in meeting the deadline to serve the learning at the beginning of the year is due to objective reasons. The opinion on investing in standard classroom equipment according to the requirements of the major must be proposed by the department, and the construction of items that need investment according to the characteristics of the subject. The school will request funding from the city to implement based on the request of the department. In the meeting, this issue was agreed by the school's Board of Directors and the Department of Theatre, Cinema & Dance to be implemented in the 2017-2018 school year.

Regarding Ms. Nhung's opinion that People's Artist Anh Tu oppressed and interfered so that she would not sit on the examination board and she has written evidence. Can the school explain this more clearly?

Regarding the interference and pressure, the school affirmed that it was not requested by the People's Artist Anh Tu personally to the school's leadership. Other information presented by lecturer Hong Nhung at the meeting was only personal, and no evidence was provided in the meeting for confrontation. The school has no further comments on this issue.

When a lecturer livestreamed to tell the problems surrounding this incident, did the school feel that its image was affected and how will it handle the lecturer?

This is not the first time this has happened on social media, involving school staff and lecturers. However, using livestream to create inaccurate public opinion about the school has negatively affected the image, reputation and training of the school. The school has had a meeting and has made specific conclusions, right and wrong, to resolve satisfactorily and in accordance with the law.

Does the school have a policy on social media? If so, how will the case of lecturer Hong Nhung livestreaming about the internal situation within the school while still working at the school be handled?

In 2014, the school issued regulations on online speech (Notice No. 03/TB-DU of the Party Committee and Notice No. 119/TB-CDNT dated April 4, 2014 of the Board of Directors on the Regulations on the use of social networks for staff, lecturers and students of Hanoi College of Arts). Internal matters of the school will be handled appropriately, in accordance with the laws of the State and the regulations of the school.
