Mbappe is dim, France struggles to "overcome" Belgium
The match between France and Belgium in the last 16 of Euro 2024 was tense from the first minutes. Both teams showed determination but were very cautious from the start.
Right from the first minutes, France was the team that took the initiative to control the match. Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe had the first chances to finish but could not get past Belgium's solid defense.

In the second half, the French team appeared more impatient in searching for a goal. More dangerous opportunities also appeared, however, similar to the first half, France's scoring opportunities were all unfortunately missed.
It seemed like the match would end in a draw, but in the 85th minute, luck called Muani's name and France took the lead thanks to Vertonghen's own goal.
There was little time left for Belgium to make something special. The 1-0 result held until the end of the match and France advanced straight to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.
