The 2013 National Pencak Silat Championship has concluded.

On October 27th, the 2013 National Pencak Silat Championship concluded successfully at the Hai Duong Provincial Gymnasium.

The tournament was organized by the General Department of Physical Education and Sports (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism from October 22 to 27 in Hai Duong.

The competition attracted 260 male and female athletes from 24 delegations. The athletes competed in two categories: sparring (Tanding) and performance (Seni). Male athletes competed in weight classes of 45kg, 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 90kg, and 110kg; female athletes competed in weight classes of 45kg, 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, and over 75kg.

The competitions are played in a knockout format to select the best-performing athletes to advance to the next round.

At the end of the competition, the organizing committee awarded the first prize to the Hanoi team; the second prize to the Hai Duong team, and the third prize to the An Giang team.

In the performance (Seni) category, the gold medal in the men's Tunggal event went to athlete Hoang Quang Trung (Hanoi); in the men's Ganda event, the gold medal went to athletes Nguyen Danh Phuong and Dang Quoc Bao (Ministry of Public Security); in the men's Regu event, the gold medal went to athletes Hoang Quang Trung, Nguyen Huu Tuan, and Nguyen The Hien (Hanoi).

In the women's Tunggal event, the gold medal went to athlete Nguyen Thi Thuy (Hanoi); in the women's Ganda event, the gold medal went to athletes Ngo Thi Quyen and Nguyen Thi Lan (Hanoi); in the women's Regu event, the gold medal went to athletes Nguyen Thi Thuy, Ngo Thi Quyen, and Nguyen Thi Lan (Hanoi).

In the Tanding competition, for men in the 45kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Le Cong Nghiep (An Giang); in the 50kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Le Quoc Son (Army); and in the 55kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Vu Duy Tu (Vinh Phuc).

In the 60kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Nhan Bao Phong (An Giang); in the 65kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Nguyen Huy Tam (Hanoi); and in the 70kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Le Ngoc Tan (Ministry of Public Security).

In the 75kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Pham Thanh Tam (Tien Giang); in the 80kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Nguyen Duy Tuyen (Thanh Hoa); in the 85kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Le Sy Kien (Hai Duong); and in the 90kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Huynh Tuan Viet (Tien Giang).

In the 95kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Nguyen Duy Doan (Nghe An); in the 110kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Hoang Van Bac (Hai Duong).

In the Tanding competition, for women in the 45kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Nguyen Thi Thanh Tuyen (Army); in the 50kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Le Thi Phi Nga (Ho Chi Minh City); in the 55kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Dao Thi Tuyet (Hung Yen); in the 60kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Hoang Thi Loan (Hai Phong); and in the 65kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Vu Thi Van Anh (Quang Ninh).

In the 70kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Kieu Thi Nhung (Hanoi); in the 75kg weight category, the gold medal went to athlete Nguyen Thi Yen (Vinh Phuc); and in the weight category of 75kg and above, the gold medal went to athlete Lo Thi Tuoi (Son La).
