Overcoming difficulties and boosting summer-autumn production.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 22nd, the Provincial People's Committee held its regular monthly meeting for June 2015. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – presided over the meeting. The Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of various departments and agencies also attended. Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns, and other relevant parties participated via online connection from their respective locations.

Overview of the session

At the morning session, delegates listened to and commented on the Report on the results of implementing the Notice of Conclusion of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in May 2015; the plan for socio-economic development, national defense and security, state budget estimates, and foreign affairs. Delegates also listened to and commented on the situation in the first six months of 2015 and the tasks and solutions for the last six months of 2015.

The Director of the Department of Planning and Investment reported on the implementation of the socio-economic development and national defense and security plan for the first six months of the year, and the tasks for the last six months of the year.

In the first six months of 2015, the entire province effectively implemented poverty reduction and new rural development programs. Notably, it organized many major events such as the national Sen Village Festival, the ceremony honoring the Vi Giam folk songs, and the meeting between local authorities and diplomatic delegations in the North Central region. Leaders of various departments and agencies also offered suggestions and solutions to address obstacles and promote socio-economic development in the last six months of 2015.

Based on the reports presented at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong requested relevant departments, agencies, and localities to clarify several noteworthy issues such as: the situation of outstanding tax debts; outstanding social insurance debts; the slow recruitment of preschool teachers; the increasing rate of third births; the complexity of some types of crimes related to drugs, protection rackets, and property theft; and the slow progress in land clearance for investment projects in some areas...

The delegates also heard several suggestions and proposals regarding funding for the implementation of new rural development, on forest fire prevention and control, on drought prevention, on the management of industrial explosives, and on comprehensive solutions to attract investment and implement investment projects effectively...

After listening to 3 reports and 15 opinions from localities, departments, and agencies, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong delivered the concluding remarks of the morning session, addressing questions, suggestions, and proposals, and instructing relevant agencies to promptly advise on the implementation of reasonable suggestions and proposals.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: In general, despite facing many difficulties in the first six months of 2015, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Committee organized the work relatively seriously and meticulously, achieving encouraging results: GDP in the first six months increased by approximately 6.51%, the highest compared to the same period in the past five years; the cultivated area increased steadily compared to previous years; industrial production is on the path to recovery; investment, foreign affairs, and construction work were carried out well, mobilizing large capital to invest in highly feasible projects.

In the last six months of the year, the Provincial People's Committee will focus on solutions and measures to capitalize on advantages and overcome difficulties, including: addressing the lack of decisive leadership that has caused delays in the implementation of some projects (such as the Vinh urban project); directing drought and flood prevention efforts to ensure the success of the summer-autumn crop; focusing on accelerating the construction of new rural areas; resolving obstacles in land clearance and handover to investors; and strengthening inspection and supervision to combat tax evasion.

First and foremost, all sectors and localities are required to make thorough preparations for the inauguration ceremony of the Truông Bồn Historical Site and activities commemorating the War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27th; and to make good preparations for the Provincial Emulation Congress.
