Overcoming loopholes leading to corruption and waste
The content of the Fatherland Front's supervision must closely follow the content and overcome legal loopholes that can lead to corruption and waste.
This morning (January 4), in Ho Chi Minh City, the 13th Conference of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (8th term) opened. Attending were Ms. Truong Thi Mai - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization; Mr. Tran Thanh Man - Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The country's GDP growth reached 6.81%, the highest level in many years; all 13 targets set by the National Assembly were met and exceeded.
People and voters highly appreciate the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, branches and local authorities at all levels' regular attention to social security work, implementation of preferential policies for people with revolutionary contributions, care for the poor, and timely support for people affected by natural disasters.
However, voters are still worried about a number of issues such as: Low growth quality, low labor productivity; high public debt; many projects are behind schedule, low efficiency, low business competitiveness, corruption and waste have not really been pushed back; citizen reception, handling of complaints, denunciations, recommendations, and reflections and untimely disclosure of inspection conclusions...

Mr. Ngo Sach Thuc, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, emphasized: “We must perform well the function of supervision and social criticism of the Fatherland Front. In particular, the content of supervision must closely follow the contents and programs, to overcome loopholes in the law, mechanisms and policies that can lead to corruption and waste. There must be participation of the Fatherland Front and the political system at all levels.”
This Presidium meeting focused on discussing and approving the Program of coordination and unified action of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in 2018; the Project on organizing the Congresses of the Front at all levels towards the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2019 - 2024 and considering additional personnel for the Standing Committee, the Presidium and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front./.
