International visitors to Vietnam hit a new record in August

According to data from the General Statistics Office, international visitors to our country in August are estimated at 1.2 million arrivals, up 18.5% over the previous month and up 35.1% over the same period last year.

This is the month with the largest number of international visitors ever.

The number of tourists to Vietnam is the highest ever.

The reason for the sharp increase in international visitors to our country this month is that the tourism industry and travel companies have taken many measures and effectively organized cultural and tourism activities to attract international visitors.

In addition, the visa exemption policy for citizens of the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy contributes to attracting a large number of visitors from Western European countries.

In the first 8 months of this year, international visitors to our country are estimated at 8.5 million, an increase of 29.7% over the same period last year.

Tourists from Asia reached 6.3 million, up 34.8% over the same period last year. Of which, Chinese tourists reached 2.6 million, up 51.4%; Korean tourists reached 1.5 million, up 49.3%; Japanese tourists reached 518 thousand, up 7.4%...

Visitors from Europe are estimated at 1.2 million, up 20.4% over the same period last year.

Visitors from the Americas reached 565,200 arrivals, up 10.8% over the same period last year. Of which, visitors from the United States reached 424,600 arrivals, up 9.8%.

Visitors from Australia and Africa also increased compared to the same period in 2016.
