International visitors to Vietnam increased by 4.6% in July.
According to the General Statistics Office, the number of international visitors to Vietnam in July was estimated at 564,736, a decrease compared to the same period in 2013 but an increase of 4.6% compared to June 2014.

Of these, the number of visitors for tourism and leisure was 2,929,610, an increase of 13.9%; visitors for business purposes was 815,811, an increase of 16.1%; visitors for visiting relatives was 836,388, an increase of 19.5%; and visitors for other purposes was 270,813, an increase of 21.1% compared to the same period in 2013.
Statistics also show that in the first seven months of 2014, most tourist markets increased compared to the same period in 2013, with the largest increase being in Hong Kong (up 111.3%); followed by Germany (up 99.4%); Russia (up 27.0%); Laos (up 26.7%); China (up 26.0%),… In addition, the Finnish market decreased by 2.4% and the Indonesian market decreased by 1.4% compared to the same period in 2013.
Thus, after two consecutive months of decline (in June, the number of tourists to Vietnam decreased by nearly 20% compared to May, and in May it decreased by 9.62% compared to April), the number of international tourists to Vietnam has increased again.
In 2014, the tourism industry set a target of welcoming 8-8.2 million international visitors and serving 37.5 million domestic tourists, with total tourism revenue reaching approximately 240,000 billion VND.
