Located in the island nation of Maldives, with a cost of 50,000 USD per night, the world's first underwater hotel promises to bring visitors surprising and interesting experiences.

Saleem, the first professionally trained architect in the Maldives and a pioneer in the country's tourism industry, had long dreamed of designing a special bedroom located at the 5-star Conrad Maldives Rangal resort.

After 13 years, he has realized his dream. Muraka, the world's first underwater building, was completed and opened to visitors in early November. One floor of the hotel is completely 5 meters below sea level. The total cost of this project is up to15 million USD.

Muraka means coral in the local Dhivehi (Maldives) language. The two-story structure can accommodate up to nine guests at a time. The above-water portion includes a twin bedroom, gym, butler's quarters, integrated living room, bar, sun terrace and ocean-facing bathtub.

The upper level is connected to the underwater area by a spiral staircase. This area includes a bedroom with a king-size bed, a lounge and a bathroom. Alternatively, you can leave the Muraka Hotel via a jetty to visit Ithaa, the famous 5-star underwater restaurant nearby.

To ensure maximum privacy, Muraka is located away from the beach villas. A representative of the resort where the hotel is located said that when coming here, people will be immersed in the beautiful ocean life in the Maldives, discovering unique experiences that have never been seen anywhere else in the world.

The building was built on land in Singapore and brought to the Maldives by a special ship. Once lowered into the water, the two-story hotel will be anchored with 10 concrete piles to prevent it from shifting with the waves or high tides.

Sleeping with fish, drinking coffee with coral, some lucky tourists can see turtles, stingrays, or even sharks through the glass, all will be memorable experiences during the vacation in the beautiful archipelago. Moreover, you will have a unique meal, watching the bottom of the Indian Ocean at Ithaa restaurant.

The cost for a stay package at Maruka is a minimum of200,000 USD/4 nights, including a private chef for all meals and use of a private boat. If you become a regular customer, you will have the opportunity to become a close member, owning a Hilton Diamond card.
