Ha Long Carnival 2014 Opening Ceremony: Quang Ninh - Convergence and Spread

With the theme “Quang Ninh - Convergence and Spread,” Ha Long Carnival 2014 opened on the evening of April 30, at Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Hung Thang Ward, Ha Long City in a jubilant atmosphere with a myriad of shimmering, brilliant colors.

The 2014 Ha Long Carnival consists of two parts: the opening ceremony and an art performance on stage with the theme “Impressions of Ha Long.” This is a special song-dance-music program lasting about 45 minutes with performances by famous singers from Quang Ninh and nearly 300 dancers, models and the coordination of artists from China, Laos and Thailand.

The second part of the festival, themed "Convergence of colors - spreading benefits", is a grand performance on a giant stage (nearly 1,000m of street) by 28 performance blocks with over 3,800 professional and non-professional actors of ethnic groups from localities in the province, along with 7 flower cars, dozens of models, and mobile stages impressively decorated with the themes "Ha Long - City of Aspiration for Flying Dragons," "Land of Convergence of Natural Masterpieces," "Land of Convergence of Cultural Colors" and "Land of Spreading Values ​​and Benefits."

Each theme is associated with a tourist center, tourist attractions in the province, especially the tourist centers of Ha Long, Yen Tu, Van Don, Mong Cai.

Tens of thousands of locals and tourists were present at the festival area. Sharing his feelings during the jubilant festival, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, a tourist from Hanoi, said: “I am so lucky to be able to attend this very meaningful festival. I am truly overwhelmed by the beauty, sophistication and grandeur of an elaborate and extremely unique art program.”

Unlike previous Carnavals organized by Quang Ninh province, this year, Ha Long city is responsible for organizing the Carnaval with 100% socialized funding.

This is one of the major activities of the Ha Long-Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2014, a festival of the people of Quang Ninh province to introduce and invite friends and domestic and international tourists to admire and explore the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay and the colorful cultural heritages of Quang Ninh province./.
