Opening Ceremony of the Ha Long Carnival 2014: Quang Ninh - Convergence and Dissemination

With the theme "Quang Ninh - Convergence and Dissemination," the Ha Long Carnival 2014 opened on the evening of April 30th on Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Hung Thang Ward, Ha Long City, in a vibrant atmosphere filled with dazzling and colorful displays.

The Ha Long Carnival 2014 program consists of two parts: the opening ceremony and a stage performance with the theme "Impressions of Ha Long." This is a special 45-minute music and dance performance featuring renowned singers from Quang Ninh, along with nearly 300 dancers and models, and collaborative performances by artists from China, Laos, and Thailand.

Part two of the festival, themed "Convergence of Colors - Spreading Benefits," is a grand performance on a giant stage (nearly 1,000m of street) featuring 28 performance groups with over 3,800 professional and amateur actors from various ethnic groups in the province, along with 7 floats, dozens of models, and mobile stages impressively decorated according to the themes "Ha Long - City of Aspiration for Flying Dragons," "Land of Convergence of Natural Masterpieces," "Land of Convergence of Cultural Colors," and "Land of Spreading Values ​​and Benefits."

Each theme is associated with a tourism center or tourist destination within the province, especially the tourism centers of Ha Long, Yen Tu, Van Don, and Mong Cai.

Tens of thousands of locals and tourists were present at the festival area. Sharing his feelings about the vibrant evening, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, a tourist from Hanoi, said: “I feel very fortunate to have attended this very meaningful festival. I am truly overwhelmed by the beauty, sophistication, and grandeur of such an elaborate and spectacular artistic program.”

Unlike previous Carnivals organized by Quang Ninh province, this year, Ha Long city is responsible for organizing the Carnival with 100% of the funding coming from private sources.

This is one of the major activities of the Ha Long-Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2014, a festival for the people of Quang Ninh province to introduce and invite friends and tourists from home and abroad to admire and explore the World Natural Heritage site of Ha Long Bay and the colorful cultural heritage of Quang Ninh province.
