(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of February 20th, the People's Committee of Quy Chau district solemnly organized the opening ceremony of the 2014 Hang Bua Festival. Attending the ceremony were representatives from various departments and agencies of Nghe An province; delegations from Tra Bong and Tay Tra districts of Quang Ngai province; Nhu Thanh district of Thanh Hoa province; representatives from other districts and towns in the province, along with a large number of visitors from all over and local people of various ethnic groups in Quy Chau district.
The Hang Bua Festival is held annually and holds profound significance for the cultural and spiritual life of the local people.

The 2014 Hang Bua Festival consisted of two parts: the ceremonial part at the Muong Chieng Ngam temple, including the opening ceremony, the announcement ceremony, the grand sacrifice ceremony, and the thanksgiving ceremony… On the morning of February 20th, after the spiritual ceremony at the Thanh Hoang Chieng Ngam temple, performed according to the traditional customs of the Thai ethnic group, the Hang Bua Festival officially opened. The opening ceremony demonstrated reverence and respect for the origins and cultural identity of the ethnic group, as well as friendship and camaraderie, creating a new spirit for construction and development.

Immediately after the drumbeat, the lively gong and drum music marked the opening of the festival, followed by cultural programs including singing, bamboo pole dancing, furrow carving, culinary culture competitions; beautiful campsite competitions; Thai script writing competitions; rice wine performances combined with traditional folk singing between cultural clubs; embroidery and weaving competitions; incense making competitions; ethnic costume performances; the Hang Bua beauty contest; and bonfires... Sports activities including volleyball, football, archery, stick pushing, tug-of-war, throwing the ball, carousel rides, traditional games, stilt walking, etc., were organized enthusiastically with the large and enthusiastic participation of local people and tourists.
