Opening Ceremony of the Volleyball and Badminton Tournament for Emulation Cluster No. VII

(Baonghean.vn) - CTo celebrate the 68th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd, on the evening of August 30th, at the Nam Dan District Community Training Center, the Department of Internal Affairs, in coordination with the Nam Dan District People's Committee, organized the opening ceremony of the volleyball and badminton tournament for officials and employees of emulation cluster No. 7, comprising 6 units: the Department of Internal Affairs, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc, Cua Lo town, and Vinh City.

The tournament attracted 120 athletes, including leaders, officials, and employees from the Party, government, and mass organizations of 6 units, competing in two sports: volleyball and badminton. This is a practical sporting activity to celebrate the 68th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd and is held in the beloved homeland of President Ho Chi Minh, aiming to continue actively promoting the spirit of physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh, ensuring good health for studying, working, building, and defending the Fatherland.

The leaders of Nam Dan district presented commemorative flags and flowers to the participating teams.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the organizing committee divided the teams into groups for 20 badminton matches in the following categories: 7 men's doubles (leaders); 7 men's doubles (officers over 40 years old); 7 men's doubles (officers under 40 years old); 7 mixed doubles (men and women under 40 years old); and 7 women's doubles (women under 40 years old).

Prior to the opening ceremony on August 30th, five volleyball teams from five units: Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc, Cua Lo town, and Vinh city, competed in seven matches using a round-robin format. The tournament will conclude on September 1st, 2013.
