Opening of the 4th Southern Region Yen Thanh District Association Football Tournament - 2025
On the afternoon of March 9, at De Po Football Stadium, Di An city, Binh Duong province, the Yen Thanh Association of the Southern region officially opened the 4th Yen Thanh District Association Football Tournament of the Southern region in 2025, competing for the Ben Sport Cup.
Attending the ceremony were Major General Nguyen Hong Truong, Chairman of Yen Thanh Association in the Southern region; Mr. Phan Dang Chuong, Head of the Organizing Committee; and representatives of the tournament sponsors.
This year's tournament has the participation of 13 teams, competing in the 5-a-side format as regulated by the Vietnam Football Federation, divided into 3 groups. Group A includes the teams: A1 Tay Thanh FC, A2 Quang Thanh FC, A3 Long Thanh FC, A4 Tang Thanh FC, A5 Lien Thanh FC; Group B includes: B1 Van Thanh FC, B2 Van Tu FC, B3 Vinh Thanh FC, B4 Tho Thanh FC; Group C includes: C1 Thanh Thanh FC, C2 Do Thanh FC, C3 Kim Thanh FC, C4 Xuan Thanh FC.
At the ceremony, Mr. Phan Dang Chuong, Head of the Organizing Committee, said: This is a tournament to celebrate the Spring of At Ty 2025, along with showing the strong passion for football of the young generation of Yen Thanh people far from home to create a useful playground in the Southern region. The purpose of the tournament is to exchange and connect fellow countrymen and solidarity, thereby showing the spirit and enthusiasm of Yen Thanh people in the Southern land.
Mr. Phan Dang Chuong hopes that the players participating in the competition will promote the spirit of solidarity, hometown love, compete honestly, demonstrate noble sportsmanship, create cultural beauty in sports, and contribute to the audience good plays and beautiful goals.
According to the Organizing Committee, the 2025 Yen Thanh Southern Region Football Tournament has been improved and aimed at being more professional, with a focus on refereeing, security and medical issues, including a medical team supporting the stadium to ensure the safety of the players.
The winning team will receive a Cup, a gold medal and 8 million VND; Second prize will receive a silver medal and 5 million VND; Third prize will receive a bronze medal and 3 million VND; Style prize (4th prize), 1 million VND; The prizes for best goalkeeper, top scorer, and best player are 1 million VND.
At the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Hong Truong, Chairman of the Yen Thanh Association in the Southern region, was very excited by the solidarity and fellow countrymen of the Yen Thanh people far from home, who had organized a large-scale, methodical tournament.
In particular, the 4th Southern Yen Thanh Football Championship - 2025 called for support from sponsors to build a house of gratitude for the family of Mr. Pham Van Thong and Ms. Duong Thi Van, Trai Mat hamlet, Kim Thanh commune, Yen Thanh, Nghe An. This family has 4 members but Mr. Thong and his two children all have Down syndrome. This is a very noble and humane gesture, responding to the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Prime Minister.
