This year's fair features a large participation of businesses from 23 countries and territories, with national pavilions; areas for machinery, electrical and electronic equipment; areas for food, beverages and consumer goods; and areas for trade promotion by provinces.
Expo 2014 was organized on a larger scale and featured a wider variety of products than previous editions. This included the regular participation of businesses from South Korea, showcasing typical products such as electrical and electronic equipment, machinery, and healthcare products.
Many annual trade promotion activities take place within the framework of Vietnam Expo 2014, such as export promotion seminars organized by the Trade Promotion Agency; thematic seminars; trade promotion forums between Vietnamese and international businesses organized by foreign trade promotion organizations and businesses; tours of industrial parks and export processing zones, etc.
Vietnam Expo 2014 also attracted several countries participating for the first time, such as Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai, Head of the Organizing Committee, commented that in the context of the general difficulties of the world economy, the large number of international businesses coming to Vietnam to participate in the Fair is a positive sign, reflecting the potential as well as the trend of recovery and development of the Vietnamese economy.
Over its 24 years of organization, the Vietnam Expo has become one of the major events of Vietnam's industry and trade sector, serving as an important bridge in promoting trade and investment in Vietnam, and a place where Vietnamese businesses meet, network, and introduce their products to foreign partners.
