Opening of Vietnam Expo 2014

On the morning of April 16, with the theme "Cooperation towards the ASEAN Economic Community", Vietnam Expo 2014 opened with 600 booths and over 500 domestic and international enterprises participating.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang also led ministries and branches to cut the ribbon to open the Fair.

This year's fair has the participation of many businesses from 23 countries and territories with national pavilions; electrical and electronic machinery and equipment area; food-beverage-consumer goods area; and trade promotion pavilions of provinces.

Expo 2014 was organized on a larger scale and with more diverse products on display than previous years. Among them, it is necessary to mention the regular participation of enterprises from Korea with typical products such as electrical equipment, electronics, machinery, health care products...

There are many annual trade promotion activities taking place within the framework of Vietnam Expo 2014 such as the Export Promotion Workshop organized by the Trade Promotion Agency; thematic seminars; trade promotion talks between Vietnamese and international enterprises organized by trade promotion organizations and foreign enterprises; tours to industrial parks, export processing zones, etc.

Vietnam Expo 2014 also attracted a number of countries participating for the first time such as Italy, Portugal and Spain.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai, Head of the Organizing Committee, commented that in the context of the general difficulties of the world economy, the large number of international enterprises coming to Vietnam to participate in the Fair is a good signal, reflecting the potential as well as the recovery and development trend of the Vietnamese economy.

Over the past 24 years, Vietnam Expo has become one of the major events of the Vietnam Industry and Trade sector, an important bridge in promoting trade and investment in Vietnam and a place for Vietnamese enterprises to meet, exchange and introduce products to foreign partners.
