Opening of the 13th Central Committee Conference (12th term)
This morning (October 5), the 13th Central Executive Committee Conference (12th tenure) opened in Hanoi.

At this conference, the Central Committee spent time discussing, giving opinions and reviewing: The socio-economic situation in 2020, the socio-economic development plan for 2021; continuing to complete draft documents to be submitted to the 13th National Party Congress; personnel work of the 13th Central Executive Committee and a number of other important issues.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, on behalf of the Politburo and the Secretariat, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong warmly welcomed the Party Central Committee members and delegates attending the conference and expressed a number of opinions that raised issues and suggested that the Central Committee members pay attention to during the discussion, consideration and decision-making process.

General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized that the conference took place in the context that the 12th National Congress term is about to end, Party organizations have completed grassroots and upper-level congresses, have been and are conducting congresses of Party Committees directly under the Central Committee, moving towards the 13th National Congress of the Party; the whole country is promoting the important results achieved, continuing to persistently and resolutely implement the goal of effectively controlling the pandemic, while focusing on socio-economic development, striving to complete at the highest level the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress and the socio-economic development tasks in 2020 and the 5-year period (2016-2020).
“The content of this conference agenda includes very basic and important issues. I request that Central Committee members take time to focus on studying, discussing, and giving opinions to continue to perfect and consider and decide at the end of the session,” General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized.
According to the schedule, the conference will take place from October 5-10.
