Opening Ceremony of the 2013 National Defense Sports Festival

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of June 10th, at Regiment 764, the Military Command of Nghe An province held the opening ceremony of the 2013 National Defense and Militia Sports Festival.

With the motto "Health for building and defending the Fatherland," and "Sports for unity, honesty, and nobility," this year's National Defense and Militia Sports Festival brings together 225 athletes and coaches, including 66 female athletes, from 20 districts, cities, and towns across the province. Over two days, from June 11th to 12th, the athletes will compete in three events: AK rifle shooting (3 positions), militia combat martial arts, and a combined military event consisting of shooting, grenade throwing, and armed running. The crossbow shooting event was previously held in six mountainous districts.

The Head of the Provincial Military Command presented the rotating flag to the delegations participating in the 2013 National Defense Sports Festival for Militia and Self-Defense Forces.

The National Defense and Militia Sports Festival is an opportunity to evaluate the results of physical training and sports activities within the militia forces over the past period, while also continuing to promote the health and fitness movement for national construction and defense. At the end of the festival, the organizing committee will select high-achieving athletes to participate in the National Defense and Militia Sports Festival of Military Region IV, which will take place at the end of July.
