Opening Ceremony of the 20th Nghe An Youth Informatics Competition

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 8, 2014, at Vinh University of Technology and Education, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, in coordination with the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Information and Communications, organized the opening ceremony of the 20th Young Informatics Competition. Attending the opening ceremony was Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Nearly 205 contestants from primary, secondary, and high school levels across 20 out of 21 districts, cities, and towns participated in this year's competition, making it the largest in scale and number of participants in the 20 times it has been held.

Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien delivered the opening speech at the competition.

The candidates participated in the multiple-choice test.

This year, elementary school students will participate in a multiple-choice test on computers and operating systems, application programs, etc., and a practical application test to hone their thinking skills. Middle school students will participate in a multiple-choice test and a programming test using the Pascal language. High school students will participate in a programming test using the Pascal language. In addition, students can participate in a creative software competition where they program their own software beforehand, packaged and installed along with the source code on a CD or Flash RAM disc, with confirmation from their organization.
