Opening Ceremony of Cờn Temple Festival and Launch of Hoang Mai Town Tourism 2023

On the evening of February 10th, Hoang Mai town solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Corn Temple Festival and launched Hoang Mai Town Tourism 2023.

Attending the ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam - Director of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Preservation Support Fund; representatives from provincial departments and agencies; leaders of Hoang Mai town; leaders of districts; sponsors; and a large number of local people and tourists from all over.

When mentioning customs and festivals in Nghe An, the old saying "The most sacred temples" still circulates – the four most sacred temples in Nghe An are "First Corn Temple, second Qua Temple, third Bach Ma Temple, fourth Chieu Trung Temple". Among them, Corn Temple is ranked number 1 due to its beauty and sacredness. In addition,Cờn TempleIt is also known for its picturesque and captivating landscapes.

Every spring, from the 19th to the 21st of the first lunar month each year, in the old Phuong Can village (now Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town), people and tourists from all over gather to participate in the activities at the Corn Temple Festival, a beautiful traditional cultural feature of Nghe An province.

At the ceremony, the Department of Culture and Sports performed the ritual of presenting and handing over the restored royal decrees of Cờn Temple to the Management Board for preservation and promotion of the heritage value.

The Cờn Temple Festival 2023 also features many activities such as: a spectacular art program and fireworks display during the opening ceremony; a town-wide beauty contest for female students... These are meaningful activities aimed at preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​and the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," while also promoting tourism potential and showcasing the cultural beauty of Hoàng Mai's homeland and people to a wide audience of locals and tourists from all over.

Prior to that, on February 9th and 10th, a series of lively activities took place, including sports competitions, folk games, a culinary arts contest, an art photography exhibition, spring-welcoming songs, fish release ceremonies, traditional boat races, and fishermen's net weaving demonstrations... attracting a large number of visitors from all over to participate and cheer enthusiastically.
