Con Temple is located in Phuong Can Village, Quynh Phuong Commune, Quynh Luu District, about 75km north of Vinh City and about 220km south of Hanoi. This is the most sacred temple of the four sacred temples in Nghe An Province: "First Con, second Qua, third Bach Ma, fourth Chieu Trung". The Con Temple relic consists of two temples: Con Inner Temple and Con Outer Temple. |

Con Trong Temple is located on Diec hill, facing the poetic Mai Giang river, worshiping the Four Holy Ladies of the South Sea, the Great Can nation. Con Trong Temple was built during the Tran Dynasty, developed on a large scale during the Le Dynasty, and renovated many times during the Nguyen Dynasty, so the relic bears the cultural style of the late Le and early Nguyen Dynasty. Over time, the Temple now only has the Nghi Mon building, the Main Hall, the Middle Hall, the Lower Hall, and the singing and dancing hall. |

Through the Temple gate into the yard, climb 10 stone steps to reach the Nghi Mon building. This is a majestic building in the shape of the letter "cong", consisting of two floors, 8 roofs, followed by the Main Hall, Middle Hall and Lower Hall.The music and dance hall with three main rooms and two side rooms is also large, majestic, and has diverse decorative themes. |

Although the scale of Con Trong Temple is not large, it converges many unique cultural features, from the materials used to build the Temple to the carvings and shapes... All of which show the skillful craftsmanship of the ancients. 142 valuable artifacts are still preserved here. In addition to the types of royal decrees, parallel sentences, large characters, sacrificial objects: palanquins, parasols, ivory and bronze objects..., there is also a 2-sided stone stele 1.6m high, 1.2m wide erected in 1665, a bronze bell cast in Canh Hung year (1752) weighing 300 kg, 28 stone statues and many wooden statues of the Le Dynasty. |

On January 29, 1993, the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) issued Decision No. 68/QD-BVHTT recognizing Con Temple as a national historical and cultural relic. To meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the people, Con Temple Festival is held from the 19th to the 21st of the first lunar month every year, an opportunity for local people as well as visitors from all over to come to the Temple to worship and commemorate the merits of the Four Holy Ladies.
