Opening Ceremony of the Cuong Temple Festival 2018
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 30th, Dien Chau district held the opening ceremony of the 2018 Cuong Temple Festival. Attending the event were leaders from the Department of Culture and Sports, representatives from provincial departments and agencies, leaders of Dien Chau district, and a large number of local people and tourists from near and far.
The 2018 Cuong Temple Festival will take place from March 29th to April 1st (corresponding to the 13th to 16th days of the 2nd lunar month of the Year of the Dog) and will consist of two main parts: the ceremonial part and the festive part, reflecting the rich cultural identity of the region.

The ceremonial part will be held solemnly, imbued with sacred elements, including activities such as the opening ceremony, the ceremony of announcing to Heaven, the offering ceremony, the festival opening ceremony, and the grand sacrifice ceremony. A distinctive feature of the Cuong Temple festival is the procession of the King and Princess from the temple to Xuan Ai communal house; the procession of General Cao Lo from the Cao family ancestral temple in Dien Tho commune to Xuan Ai communal house; and the procession of the King, Princess, and General Cao Lo from Xuan Ai communal house back to the temple.

The festival includes activities such as: a folk art performance; a photo exhibition about the land and people of Dien Chau; a "Remembering the Source" camp; a display of booths promoting some traditional products of Dien Chau district and other regions in the province; folk games such as crossbow shooting, lion dance, sack race, blindfolded pot smashing, walking on a bridge, bamboo swing... In addition, there will be a contest for elegant youth and arts performances by high schools and vocational training centers on the evening of March 30th.
In particular, the ceremony for casting a gilded bronze statue of King An Duong Vuong, modeled after the statue in Co Loa, Dong Anh (Hanoi), will take place on the morning of March 31st.

Returning to the annual Cuong Temple Festival, tourists and locals will have the opportunity to discover the unique traditional activities of the people of Dien Chau, and also visit tourist attractions such as: Cua Hien Beach - Dien Trung commune, Dien Thanh Beach, Co Am Pagoda - Dien Minh commune, Xuan Duong Lake - Dien Phu commune, the ecological tourist area in Dien Lam commune...
