Opening of the 2012 Population Propaganda Festival
Last night, August 9, in Vinh city, the Department of Population and Family Planning held the opening ceremony of the 2012 Population Propaganda Festival. Attending were Dr. Duong Quoc Trong - General Director of the General Department of Population and Family Planning of Vietnam; representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors, and many people working in population work in the province.

The festival will have 20 teams from 20 urban districts with more than 100 propagandists selected from more than 7,000 grassroots population propagandists. The teams will go through 3 competitions: a greeting performance called “We are population propagandists”, a knowledge competition and a talent competition.

Through the festival, we aim to convey meaningful messages to encourage and mobilize people to effectively implement the population and family planning policy. At the same time, the festival is an activity to improve professional knowledge, practice propaganda and mobilization skills, thereby creating conditions for grassroots population propaganda teams to have the opportunity to exchange, learn, share experiences, support and encourage each other to perform well the assigned tasks.
The contest takes place on August 9 and 10.
