Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Population Propagandist Festival
Last night, August 9th, in Vinh City, the Population and Family Planning Department held the opening ceremony of the 2012 Population Propagandist Festival. Attending the event were Dr. Duong Quoc Trong - Director General of the General Department of Population and Family Planning of Vietnam; representatives from provincial departments and agencies; and a large number of people working in population affairs throughout the province.

The festival features 20 teams from 20 districts and cities, comprising over 100 communicators selected from more than 7,000 grassroots population communicators. The teams will participate in three rounds of competition: an opening presentation titled "We are Population Communicators," a knowledge test, and a talent show.

The festival aims to convey meaningful messages to encourage and mobilize people to effectively implement population and family planning policies. At the same time, the festival is an activity to enhance professional knowledge and hone communication and advocacy skills, thereby creating opportunities for grassroots population communicators to interact, learn, share experiences, and support and encourage each other in fulfilling their assigned tasks.
The competition took place over two days, August 9th and 10th.
