Opening Ceremony of the Ethnic Culture Festival of Tuong Duong District
(Baonghean.vn) -To commemorate the Day of Culture of Vietnamese Ethnic Minorities (April 19), this morning, April 18, Tuong Duong district (Nghe An province) inaugurated the first Ethnic Culture Festival.
This activity aims to honor traditional cultural values, raise awareness of cultural identity preservation, promote solidarity, and foster the determination of ethnic groups in the area (including the Thai, Khmu, Mong, Kinh, Tay Poong, and O Du) to build an increasingly prosperous and beautiful homeland.
The program, held over two days (April 18th and 19th), included: a folk art performance, a traditional costume show, and sports competitions: volleyball (men and women), chess, archery, stilt walking, throwing the "con" (a type of ball), stick pushing, tug-of-war, attracting more than 300 amateur performers, artisans, and outstanding athletes from various communes and towns.

Comrade Luong Thanh Hai - Secretary of the Tuong Duong District Party Committee - lit the torch symbolizing the traditional unity of the ethnic groups in Tuong Duong.
