Opening Ceremony of the 12th Vietnam Poetry Day in Nghe An
(Baonghean) - On the evening of February 17th, in Vinh City, the 12th Vietnam Poetry Day in Nghe An was solemnly organized with the participation of numerous artists, poets, and poetry lovers from the province.
Comrade Tran Hong Chau – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council – attended and beat the drum to inaugurate the poetry night. Prior to this, within the framework of the Poetry Day program, the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts successfully organized a poetry exhibition and a seminar on "Nghe An Poetry" with practical and meaningful content.

Following the welcoming performances and opening ceremonies, Ho Chi Minh's poem "Nguyen Tieu" (Lantern Festival) resonated, marking the beginning of the main program for the poetry night.
Adhering closely to the overarching theme of Vietnam Poetry Day 2014, "Springtime of the Nation from Dien Bien to Truong Sa," the Organizing Committee of the poetry night focused on the exchange and presentation of poems praising the traditions of the homeland, national pride in the face of the demands to protect the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland, and expressing the love of poetry in the spiritual life deeply rooted in the culture of Nghe An province.

Generations of poets in Nghe An have truly shared the same poetic sentiments, anxieties, and aspirations for goodness in the face of the complexities of life today; they wish for poetry to contribute to beautifying the spring seasons of their homeland and country.

A new feature in this year's Vietnam Poetry Day was that poets, organized into groups, came together to exchange ideas and present their works. The experiments of young poets and the refined experiences of older generations resonated in a lively atmosphere, enthusiastically cheered by poetry lovers and fellow poets, demonstrating the vibrant life of poetry in Nghe An, a land rich in patriotic traditions and cultural heritage.

The Lantern Festival Poetry Night – the 12th Vietnam Poetry Day in Nghe An – concluded, preserving the fresh inspiration of the Spring of the Year of the Horse 2014 among poets and poetry lovers in the province; truly contributing to elevating and further affirming the spiritual value of Vietnam Poetry Day, which has become a beautiful cultural tradition of the Vietnamese people.
