Opening of the photo exhibition 'ASEAN countries and people'
On the afternoon of May 12, at Nghe An Museum, the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An organized the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition "ASEAN Country and People".

Attending the opening ceremony, on the Central side, there were comrades: Nguyen Tuan Linh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Tran Thi Phuong Lan - Director of the Department of Culture - Arts, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Dang Tran Cuong - Director of the Department of Cinema; Ngo Tuan Phong - Deputy Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition; Ho Sy Minh - Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
On the side of Nghe An province, there were members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Van Dung - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives of provincial departments, agencies, and a large number of people of Vinh city.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Mr. Ngo Tuan Phong - Deputy Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions stated: On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Nghe An province organized the photo exhibition "ASEAN Country and People". This is one of the cultural and artistic activities atLotus Village Festivalyear 2025

The exhibition displays 200 photos by authors from 10 ASEAN countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia; of which, there are 30 selected photos of Nghe An sent by Nghe An photographers.

The works introduce the country, people, economy, culture, society, cooperation and exchange activities between ASEAN countries. Through that, it enhances understanding and connects countries; contributes to building a united, self-reliant, cooperative, and diverse ASEAN community to continue writing success stories and increasingly make positive contributions to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

The exhibition also contributes to enriching the content of the Lotus Village Festival in 2025; is an opportunity to promote and introduce to a large number of people in the country as well as international friends aboutNghe An hometown, the revolutionary land, with hard-working, industrious people, beautiful and fertile nature, the birthplace and nurturing of a great personality - Ho Chi Minh.

This is also a valuable opportunity for photography lovers and photographers from Vietnam and ASEAN countries to enhance exchanges, learn from each other, and strengthen solidarity, understanding and respect.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Tran Thi My Hanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism affirmed: The exhibition "ASEAN Country and People" is a meaningful event organized by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.

The exhibition is not only an opportunity for Nghe An public to access and enjoy selected excellent photographic works in the region, but also a cultural bridge, contributing to arousing pride in the homeland and country; spreading the spirit of solidarity and friendship in the ASEAN community. At the same time, this is also a valuable opportunity to introduce the beauty of nature, people andNghe An cultureto friends in the country, region and the world.
