Opening of the 2015 Vietnam Heritage Photo Contest Exhibition in Da Nang

On November 2, in Da Nang, the Vietnam Heritage Photo Contest 2015 and Binh Thuan - Green Convergence Exhibition opened, organized by Vietnam Heritage Magazine under the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association and main sponsor Canon.

This is the second year the Vietnam Heritage Exhibition has been held in Da Nang. The 100 best works selected from 4,740 entries were displayed at the exhibition. Immediately after the exhibition at Da Nang University of Technology, the Organizing Committee will continue to organize the exhibition at the Museum of Cham Sculpture, Da Nang.

Through the exhibition, viewers can easily see the single photo genre depicting vivid natural moments, unique festivals and beliefs with deep humanity, simple everyday moments, ancient and profound spiritual architectural works...

The photo series genre tells stories between people and nature in a vivid and colorful way, such as the photo series "Legendary River" or depicts each detail of traditional culture that causes strong emotions, such as the photo report "The Wedding of the Cham Ba Ni People"...

Chairman of the Jury, photographer Hoang Trung Thuy said: The photos participating in this year's contest were taken across the country with more photos and authors than last year. In particular, the artistic quality of the works is high, the content is rich with a broader perspective than previous contests, most clearly expressed in the two themes of nature and life.

The contest had 537 authors (including 9 foreign authors) participating with 4,740 works, including 245 photo sets. The theme of Binh Thuan nature and culture had 53 photo sets and 495 single photos.

The Vietnam Heritage Photo Contest 2015 and Binh Thuan - Green Convergence call for the attention of the domestic and foreign community to discover and share the natural and cultural heritage values ​​of Vietnam in general and Binh Thuan in particular.

The contest seeks works - stories about heritage in images to introduce to the public at home and abroad in Vietnam Heritage magazine, online editions of the magazine and organize exhibitions of the best works from the contest at tourist centers, major universities in provinces and cities.

The 2015 Vietnam Heritage Photo Contest and Binh Thuan - Green Convergence focus on four main themes: nature, material culture, intangible culture, and daily life of Vietnamese people.

Contest photos are divided into two categories: single photo and photo series.

With a variety of themes and photo genres, professional and amateur photographers have freely recreated the beauty of Vietnam's land and people from many unique and distinctive perspectives.

Through the contest, the country's heritages become closer to every Vietnamese person, contributing to promoting the image of a peaceful and beautiful Vietnam to the whole world; at the same time, it is also a reminder of the importance of conservation work with the country's important heritages.

After the exhibition at the University of Technology - Danang University and the Museum of Cham Sculpture, 100 photo works will continue to serve viewers until Tet 2016 in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and abroad.

The exhibition is open until November 7./.
