Opening of the Exhibition 'Hoang Sa and Truong Sa of Vietnam - Legal and Historical Evidence'
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 3, in Cua Lo Town, the People's Committee of Nghe An Province organized the Exhibition "Hoang Sa and Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence".
Attending the opening ceremony, on behalf of the Central Committee, there were comrade Bui Sy Hoa - Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Information; Dr. Tran Cong Truc - former Head of the Government Border Committee.
On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Ho Phuc Hop - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Ha Tan Tien - Commander of the Provincial Military Command and comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Relevant departments, branches, representatives of the leaders of Cua Lo Town and a large number of people, tourists and students of schools.
The exhibition "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence" is part of a series of activities responding to World Environment Day (June 5), World Ocean Day (June 8), Vietnam Sea and Islands Week 2016 on a national scale. This is the largest exhibition on seas and islands held in Nghe An.

The exhibition displays many documents, texts, artifacts, publications, maps... collected from previously published sources of researchers and scholars at home and abroad with 5 parts of content proving Vietnam's sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.
At the ceremony, comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: The exhibition of maps and documents on Hoang Sa and Truong Sa will contribute to raising awareness, affirming the spirit of solidarity and sense of responsibility of the people of the whole country in general and the people of Nghe An province in particular, especially the youth in the cause of preserving and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; reminding every citizen in the province to always be grateful to the generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed to protect the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland. These historical and legal evidences affirm Vietnam's undeniable sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Truong Sa and Hoang Sa.

This year, the theme of Vietnam Sea and Islands Week chosen by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is "For a green planet"..In addition, the global ocean network launched the 2016 theme of World Oceans Day as “Healthy Oceans, Healthy Planet”..
With that goal, sectors and levels need to propagate and call on people to join hands to protect the ocean with appropriate contents such as launching campaigns to clean beaches and marine ecological areas; organizing cultural and social movements to change awareness, habits and lifestyles in the community towards environmental friendliness; building awareness of marine biodiversity conservation; visiting and encouraging officers, soldiers and people living on beaches and islands with many difficulties...
