Opening of Cultural Week commemorating the 250th anniversary of Nguyen Du's birth

(Baonghean.vn)- On the evening of November 28, at the Nghi Xuan District Cultural Center (Ha Tinh), the opening ceremony of the "Cultural Week commemorating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Great Poet Nguyen Du" took place.

Attending the ceremony were Nguyen Thanh Binh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Party Organization Committee; Le Dinh Son, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of relevant departments and branches.

As part of a series of events celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Nguyen Du, the cultural week took place from November 28 to December 5. The highlight of the opening night was the art program "Returning to the sacred land" with the participation of nearly 300 professional actors, artisans and extras from Nghi Xuan district. The performances clearly depicted the life and career of the great poet as well as the appeal of the Tale of Kieu.

After the opening ceremony, the cultural week will continue with the following programs: Mass art festival “Tieng to Tien Dien”; exhibition of literary publications of the great poet Nguyen Du…

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also screened 5 films related to Nguyen Du and “Truyen Kieu”, including the film “Long thanh cam gia ca” produced by the Cinema Department and Liberation Film Studio since 2000, based on the idea of ​​the poem of the same name by the great poet Nguyen Du.

There were more than 300 professional actors and extras participating in the performance.

The closing ceremony, which is also the official celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Nguyen Du, will be held on December 5 in Ha Tinh City on a national scale under the direction and coordination of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and central agencies chaired by the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province.

It is expected that this ceremony will be attended by Party and State leaders, international and domestic delegates.

The organizers said that the highlight of the celebration is the art program "Whose Poetry Moves the Earth and Heaven" directed by the Department of Performing Arts of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and performed by the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater.
